The Agapé Center for Service & Learning is excited to invite you to partner with us for Giving Day 2018! Committed to Messiah’s mission of “educating men and women toward maturity of intellect, character and Christian faith in preparation for lives of service, leadership and reconciliation,” the Agapé Center’s Service and Missions Program seeks to involve students in cross-cultural service and ministry experiences, locally, nationally and abroad, with the hope that students will gain a deeper sense of self and awareness of God and His work in the world.
All funds raised during Giving Day 2018 will impact our International Service-Learning Program.
Building on our partnership with Food for the Hungry (FH), the Agapé Center will again be sending teams to Dulce Nombre de Jesus, Nicaragua and ToroToro, Bolivia in the summer of 2018.
Food for the Hungry (FH) has a country-specific mission to improve the overall education system in Nicaragua; therefore, our 2018 team will seek to support and advance this mission through developing and delivering educational programs to Nicaraguan youth and assisting FH staff in building projects to create safe spaces for the community school.
Food for the Hungry (FH) empowers local community leaders to meet the needs in ToroToro, Bolivia, which includes a variety of initiatives related to malnutrition, spiritual development, education and clean water. In 2018, our hope is to enhance science education by providing dissecting microscopes and related scientific equipment to the local schools, along with appropriate training for faculty and students of the greater ToroToro region.
We believe service-learning through the Agapé Center offers a hands-on opportunity for students to put their faith into action and we will continue to be committed to making this opportunity available for all students across campus.
Celebrate the Messiah tradition of service and donate today!
